14 Free Cross Body Crochet Bag Patterns

I don’t think there is anything better than a crossbody bag – it allows you to carry those essentials safely and securely while keeping your hands free to use your phone or carry a drink as you move along with your day.

The joy of these crossbody crochet bag patterns is that you can adjust the strap length on any of these patterns to ensure that your bag will sit just where you like on your body.

This round up of crochet crossbody bag patterns shares a selection of free to view crochet patterns on the designers website, so you can scroll through knowing that whichever pattern you select, you can start your pattern right away.

What’s the best crochet stitch for a bag strap?

Most people will recommend the US single crochet stitch to create a crochet bag strap that will not stretch, but there is a variation of the single crochet that will make a less stretchy strap – the Thermal Stitch.

Like any crochet stitch, there will always be a little stretch, but the way that the thermal stitch is worked over the previous 2 rows, working through toe back loops of the 2 stitches creates an extremely firm fabric, ideal for bag straps.
