Linked Shell Stitch Granny Square | Free Crochet Pattern

This pretty shell stitch granny square pattern is quick to work up as the shells are made by working 5 double crochet stitches into the same stitch.

The shells are linked with the 2 row repeat of the stitch pattern. Rather than the shell stitches being stacked on top of each other, they are alternated to create a more interesting stitch formation.

The end result is a lightweight granny square that doesn’t use a lot of yarn to make.
