March – The Month for Crochet!

From Craft Fairs to Fibre Fests – It all starts here!

National Crochet Month

March really is the start of the craft year for many!

This weekend saw London host the Stitch Festival which I wish I could have attended as it looked inspirational! Don’t worry there are lots of different Fibre Fests throughout the year! I’ll let you know which events I will be attending in the future!

March is also traditionally to month to Meet The Maker – an opportunity of makers to come out from behind their craft and share more about their love of their craft along with what inspires them to create and make all the things. Over on Instagram @joannehawker has shared a photo challenge to share a photo a day throughout March sharing the behind the scenes of your craft which I am excited to be a part of.

You can visit my Instagram here  to see how I am getting on with the challenge 😊

I have my first craft fair of the year this month on 21st March at Willington Peace Memorial Hall in Bedfordshire and I can not wait!

I love this craft fair as its made up of local crafters from super sewers, veg growers and me! Its so popular and the whole village supports the event which is held 4 times a year. I know that their bacon buttys’s are very celebrated along with the cakes too! The cakes are one of many reasons I love it – come along and say high!

March also seems to be the time crochet moves away from the heavy weighted yarns to focus on more lightweight projects perfect for spring and summer. I know my planned makes include lots more work in cotton fibres which tend to be more breathable and lighter to wear.

I’m planning on retiring some products from my Etsy Shop in the coming weeks to make way for the change in the season so be sure to click through to grab your fav’s while you can.

Keep an eye on my upcoming Learn To Crochet Events over on my Facebook page too – where more Spring inspired workshops will be added throuhgout the month
