Easter can be such a joyous time from it’s beginnings in the religious miracle of the resurrection of Christ to it’s blending in with other rituals such as the Puritans celebration of involving much merrymaking!

If you’ve ever wondered why the bunnies and eggs came to feature so heavily, according to theconversation.com, it’s due to the “discovery of childhood”.

The decorating of eggs has been part of Easter festivals since medieval times, with it being a symbol of new life. Which has over hundreds of years developed into the joy of chocolate eggs! I have a huge affinity with character Francis Reynaud, the village priest in the amazing book Chocolat by Joann Harris, who is  overcome with temptation of the beautiful chocolates that Vianne makes.

I too have fell fowl of temptation, resulting in finishing my Easter Egg before Good Friday! Oh, the shame!

Well, my shame is what has brought me to gather together alternatives to incredible chocolate consumption over the Easter Festivities and encourage others to gather their crochet hooks and yarn, and get crafty to gift less chocolate and more crochet!

In this collection of Easy Easter Crochet patterns, you’ll find something for everyone, of every age!
