Free Crochet Flower Pattern | Free Crochet Patterns

This easy crochet flower is very easy to make and uses a minimal amount of DK (size 3) cotton and a 4mm crochet hook. If make a bigger flower, you can simply use a bigger yarn and the corresponding hook size.

There are only 2 rounds of crochet to make this flower, you start with creating a ring with your starting chain before working your 1st round of stitches into the centre of the ring. A quick colour change for round 2, and you can crochet the petals and finish your flower.

Special Stitches

Treble Crochet (Tr) – UK Double Treble Crochet (DTr)

  • Yarn over hook 3 times
  • Insert hook into stitch
  • Draw up a loop, yarn over hook & pull through (5 loops on hook)
  • Yarn over and pull 2 loops
  • Repeat 4 times.

How to Crochet this Easy Crochet Flower

Ch4.

Sl St into 1st Ch to create a ring.

Chain 4, Insert your hook into the 1st chain made

(as indicated with needle), slip stitch to create a ring

Round 1: Ch1. Working into the centre of the ring, work 15 HTr. Slip Stitch to the top of the 1st St to join the round.

Ch1, working into the centre of the ring,

HTr (HDc) 15 times,

Slip Stitch to the top of the 1st stitch to join the round.

Change to 2nd colour.

Round 2: Ch2. In the same stitch as Ch2, *Work HTr, Tr, Ch3, Sl St into 1st Ch.

Change to colour 2

In the same stitch as the chain (as indicated by needle)

Work HTr, Tr into the same St. Ch3, Sl St into 1st Ch (as indicated by needle)

Round 2 continued: In the next St, work Tr, HTr into the same St. Ch2, Sl St into same St. Sl St across next 2 Sts*.

Repeat between * and * 4 more times to make 5 petals.

Fasten off and weave in ends.
