Zig Zag Lozenge Crochet Pattern Tutorial

The Zig Zag Lozenge crochet stitch pattern creates such an interesting, textured crochet pattern. I’ve featured this stitch repeat in a number of crochet patterns including the Ides of March Crochet Purse and the corresponding bag too.  The texture is created from crochet clusters being worked into chain spaces.

This stitch pattern creates one of the most pretty crochet fabrics which when worked with different colours in each row really bring the stitch pattern to life!

As I mentioned, I have already used this stitch pattern in a crochet purse pattern and a corresponding bag patter, but I have plans to use this stitch pattern again as it’s now one of my favourites!

The stitches makes use of the Double Crochet Cluster stitch (UK – Treble crochet cluster stitch) to create  an almost holey, crochet fabric. The cluster stitches are worked in to the chain spaced created in the previous row to create a zig zag effect throughout the stitch repeat.

It’s really important to make sure that the cluster stitches are worked into the chain space, or the zig zag will not be seen.
