Cable & Crossed Granny Square | Free Crochet Pattern

Whether you love them or loath them, granny squares are usually one of the 1st projects that many beginner crocheters complete, making them a long favoured project.

The basic granny square has been used in a multitude of patterns  including my own Granny's Clutch Bag and has more recently featured on catwalks around the world.

Granny Squares like the Cable & Crossed granny square pattern can be used in place of any other square pattern.

You simply need to know what size you want your completed square to be.

The Cable & Crossed granny square is a free beginner crochet square pattern, but it's not the first design to feature this stitch combination.

The Cable & Crossed combination is a firm favourite as it creates an open stitch but when worked in a garment it's still cosy and snuggly.
