The quickest way to learn to crochet, is by attending an in-person event to be shown how to and practice the technique.
Having hosted over 60 crochet workshops since 2019, and taught hundreds of people of all ages how to crochet, I am confident that you can crochet.
There are crochet workshops available for all levels; from absolute beginners through to advanced crochet techniques. You can even arrange a 1-2-1 workshop for tailored support to help you complete your current project - simply email to arrange.

Learn to crochet for Beginners Workshop
Who is this Crochet Workshop designed for?
- Anyone who's never picked up a crochet hook before, and is looking for a fun way to learn the basics of this craft.
- Anyone who's tried to follow YouTube tutorials and want to make sure what's being created is correct
- Those who are returning to the craft after some time, and looking to refresh their memory of the basic stitches
- Looking to learn to crochet so they can progress on to new techniques and projects such as scarves, blankets or cute toys
This 2 hour, in-person crochet workshop is held regularly in Northampton in a relaxed environment with all materials required provided for you to take part in the workshop including a printed worksheets with links to video tutorials to support your learning.
The workshop covers all the basic skills required to crochet including:
- How to hold your crochet hook and yarn
- How to make a chain
- Double crochet stitch
- Treble crochet stitch
- Half treble crochet stitch
Once you have complete this workshop, there are many patterns you can get started making straight away! You can also opt to learn more with a more advance workshop.

Granny Square Basics
This 2 hour, in-person crochet workshop is held regularly in Northampton, and will show you how to crochet a traditional granny square. This ever popular crochet technique has seen a huge revival in fashion over the last few years featuring on catwalks around the world. Granny squares can be joined together to create an endless number of projects including blankets, bags, cardigans and much more.
All the materials you need to complete this workshop are provided including printed worksheets with links to video tutorials to support your learning, acrylic yarn in 2 different colours and a corresponding crochet hook to make your granny squares.
During the workshop, you will learn:
- How to crochet a granny square
- How to change colours in your granny square
- How to make a large granny square blanket
- Tips and tricks to prevent your square tilting
Who can take part in this workshop?
- Anyone who is familiar with the basics of crochet and who can make a UK treble crochet stitch
- Anyone who's tried to follow a YouTube tutorial to make a square, but it just wasn't correct
Those who are returning to the craft after some time, and looking to refresh their memory on how to crochet a granny square
Once you have complete this workshop, you can continue on to the Making the Most of your Granny Square's workshop, where you can master 3 different ways to join your square and turn those squares into complete projects.
