Filet Crochet Granny Square | Free Crochet Pattern

This free granny square pattern will introduce you to the easy filet crochet technique that creates the most beautiful patterns.

Filet crochet is traditionally made using blocks of US double crochet stitches mixed with sections of open mesh stitches.

This introduction to the Filet crochet technique is in the form of a written pattern, but you will normally find that there is no written pattern for a filet crochet pattern - simply a stitch chart to follow.

You can find out more about how to read a filet crochet chart and see examples of what the charts look like by clicking here.
