Granny Spike Stitch Square | Free Crochet Pattern

This is the 1st free granny square pattern to be featured in the Hodgepodge Granny Square crochet along and it's one of the prettiest in my opinion.

This pretty granny square pattern is being launched on Granny Square Day 2022, I thought it only fitting that the 1st one should be a variation on the basic granny square

This granny square pattern would suit having lots of squares being made up in varying colours before being joined to create a blanket in it's own, but when paired alongside the other 29 granny square patterns featured in the crochet along, it stands out on it's own merit.

The Granny Spike Stitch Square granny square is a free beginner crochet square pattern, which may look complicated to complete, but the video tutorial will help you complete this square pattern.

As with any pattern using the spike stitch, take care where you are instructed to insert your hook, use the photos as a guide and keep your tension loose when bringing up the loop to the height of the round being worked.
