Welcome to another crochet tutorial with CozyRosyUK. Today we're talking all about the invisible
0:17
decrease. So just like the double crochet two together, the invisible decrease reduces
0:23
two stitches into one. So on my right hand here you can see that I've used the standard
0:32
double crochet two together and on my left hand here we have the invisible decrease
0:38
Not only is the shape a little bit better on the invisible decrease but there are literally no lumps
0:43
and bumps like there are in the double crochet two together. So let's have a look at how we do the
0:49
the double crochet two together so that we can compare it to the invisible decrease
0:53
So here I have just, I'm just in the middle of starting a simple circle
1:00
so I going to crochet into the next three stitches along Double crochet there
1:11
And then I'm going to do a double crochet two together. So we insert the hook into the next stitch, bring a loop up
1:19
Insert the hook into the next stitch. Then we're bringing two together
1:23
So we've got all three loops on our hook. And we would yarn over and pull through all three, which gives us a bit of bulk there
1:28
So I'm going to undo that for a moment and actually show you how to do the invisible decrease because this way we don't get any lumps or bumps in our amigurami work
1:38
So it is important to note that you must be working on the right side of your work and we're only going to work into the front two loops
1:46
So every stitch has got a front loop and a back loop and we're only going to work into these front two loops
1:51
So what we do is we insert our hook under the first front loop in that first stitch
1:58
and then we insert our hook under the second front loop. So we look like we have three loops on our hook
2:05
We yarn over and bring our loop through those front two loops to leave two loops on the hook and then we yarn over and pull through both those loops and it a lot less bulky So we going to do the next three
2:20
double, the next three stitches we've got three double crochets into them just like that one two
2:26
three. We're going to do another invisible decrease so we go under that first front loop then under
2:33
the next front loop of the next stitch we yarn over, just bring our hook back through those
2:40
front two loops, yarn over and pull through both. I'm going to move along to do the next decrease
2:53
We'll do another one together. So insert your hook under the front loop of the next stitch
2:59
and then under the next front loop, it's just that front loop you want
3:07
You're going to yarn over, bring your hook through those front two loops
3:13
and yarn over again to pull through the last two remaining loops
3:30
Under that front loop, under the next front loop, yarn over to pull through those two loops
3:38
and yarn over to pull through both those loops. You can keep doing that all the way round and whenever your pattern asks you to double crochet two stitches together and you're in an amigurami style pattern, you're working on the right side of your crochet
3:55
As you can see all these lovely stitches, you're able to replace that double crochet two together with the invisible decrease
4:05
and there you are you can't see any decreases that i've made along this round at all
4:13
it's so neat and tidy so that's why i always recommend doing the invisible decrease
4:20
in your amigurami patterns as well
