Blackberry Stitch Crochet Coaster | Free Crochet Pattern

This free crochet coaster pattern is a great introduction to the Blackberry stitch; a form of bobble stitch that creates the most amazing texture.

The placement of the Blackberry stitches on this coaster, cradle your glass or mug, keeping those drips and watermarks at bay.

I fell in love with the Blackberry Stitch when creating the corresponding tea pot cosy which released exclusively with Happily Hooked Magazine earlier this year.

Unlike other puff or bobble stitches, the Blackberry stitch shows on the wrong side of the crochet fabric. To counteract that in this crochet coaster pattern, the round is turned so that the Blackberry stitches show on the right side of the project.

Keep an eye out for where to turn your coaster before you make those blackberry stitches.
